The Fastest Way to Launch a Beautiful Church Website

One of the biggest issues with building a new website is time. Whether you plan to hire it out or are brave enough to do it yourself, website projects can linger on for months at a time. What if there was a better way? Or a magic tool that you could use to instantly launch your website...That would be pretty sweet, huh?

If you find yourself nodding in agreement, this may be for you. It’s not magic per se, but it will help you launch a beautiful ministry website super fast!

Meet the Bold Church Website Template

I’m stoked to introduce you to Bold, my new church Squarespace template. It’s designed to get your ministry up and running in just a few short hours. Okay, maybe a couple days if you still need to wrangle in all your content. But, that’s still pretty magical.

The template works with just 3 ingredients:

  1. The Squarespace website builder

  2. The Bold Church Template

  3. Quality content and images

How Squarespace + Bold makes church websites look so easy?

Squarespace comes with a ton of great features already. Unfortunately, not all of them work perfectly for churches. The Bold Church Template does all the heavy lifting for you by organizing and customizing the default features to work for ministries out-of-the-box.

It’s 100% Squarespace, 100% ministry

Squarespace is known for it’s drag-and-drop website builder. And I can vouch, it’s the easiest site building experience I’ve ever used. I built this church template to leverage all the great Squarespace features making it a simple plug-and-play solution. All you’ll need to do is swap in your logo, add your content, and drop in your images. Once your site is just the way you want it, you’ll connect your domain and *poof* your church site will be online. Magic, right?

How to make a beautiful church website with no design skills?

I’ll be the first to admit, buying a template can be misleading. Whether you’re working in WordPress, Squarespace, or any other website platform, templates are designed to look good. How so? Well, they’re usually designed by a professional designer, with fake content, and for the sole purpose of making a sale! I understand how hard it can be to keep a website looking as good as the demo so I’ve used a few beginner design tips inside the template.

Design tip 1: Use bold headlines

I consider it my job as a designer to make it easy for anyone to build a beautiful site with the same template. The first thing you’ll notice is that Bold uses large headlines. Large headlines help visitors quickly scan down a page, but they also help create a strong, modern design with little effort.

In fact, I based this off of a saying we have at my design agency, “edit and enlarge”. It’s a design philosophy we use to make sure smaller websites still have a big impact on visitors. With the “edit and enlarge” mantra, you choose your words carefully and then make them stand out with big, oversized fonts. It’s a way to say less with more meaning and purpose.

Design tip 2: Use bold images

Apparently, we have a few sayings floating around my design agency. Similar to our “edit and enlarge” phrase is “show, don’t tell”. Which reminds us that we have another secret weapon...images.

Did you know, that most professional websites have a photography budget included?

We do this because we understand how valuable images are to the overall design. They capture moments, show heart, and give visitors an authentic glimpse into what’s on the other side of their screen. And when you really do it right, they help people see themselves as a part of the community. Visitors instantly relate, let down their guard, and lean in to hear what you have to say.

I created Bold for leaders who share the same value for great photography. Sure, you can hire out a professional to get the job done, but you’d be surprised at how many photographers and enthusiasts you have already in your congregation.

But don’t worry, I’ve also included all the free Unsplash images used in the demo so you can keep some and swap out others. I’d also recommend purchasing faith-based stock images at Lightstock. 👈🏼 You can use my helpful affiliate link :)

How it all Works

Getting started is super easy. When you get the template, I’ll transfer the full website to your Squarespace account for you. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive an email from Squarespace letting you know the template is ready to go in your account. If you don’t have a Squarespace account yet, that’s okay too. The email, will give you a link so you can go setup your free trial.

As a Bonus, you can take advantage of my Circle Member 6-month trial.

That’s right! I’m an official Squarespace Circle Member, which means I have a few perks. The biggest is that all websites that start from my account get the typical 14-day trial extended to 6-months! So I’m not only passing the template, I’m also passing on the extended free trial period. You can take as little or as long as you need. At any time during the trial you can pick a Squarespace plan and launch!
